What We’re Building
We are developing a suite of AI-powered tools tailored to the unique demands of vascular surgery — including RAG and Modular RAG chat interfaces that provide cited, real-time answers and support multi-step clinical reasoning. We're also building a vascular-specific large language model (LLM) trained on outcomes data to assist with predictive decision-making. Additional tools include NyxGen AI, a research companion for academic writing and study design; vascBUDDY, a patient-facing app delivering personalized health insights and recovery guidance; and lightweight Small Language Models (SMLs) optimized for documentation and intraoperative use in low-resource settings. Each tool is open-access, clinically grounded, and designed to make an immediate impact on vascular care. VASC.AI is a nonprofit collaboration between vascular surgeons, engineers, data scientists, and educators who believe that intelligent systems can make healthcare safer, fairer, and more effective.
Our team brings together academic excellence, surgical experience, and technical innovation. We’ve trained in the OR. We’ve published in the top journals. And we’ve coded the systems ourselves — all with one goal in mind: to close the gap between knowledge and care.
We’re not a tech company retrofitting AI into medicine. We’re a clinical-first, values-driven initiative designing AI tools with the vascular community, for the vascular community.
